This property faced a number of water challenges caused by downspouts causing erosion of gardens and flooding of patios and grassy areas. We added three rain gardens and a soak-away pit to catch and store excess water. In addition to managing water, we also provide low-flow, drip irrigation systems to allow clients to water their gardens in the most water-efficient way possible.
Here we expanded the beds near the house and added soil and edging to capture water and feed the plants.
Using ferns, hostas, and tiarellas we built a new bed on the shady side of the house.
The back yard had severe flooding problems from a number of downspouts letting out onto a mortared patio. Water would pool on the patio and flood the whole yard during strong deluges.
